A luxury home in Wellfleet, Massachusetts, on the verge of falling into Cape Cod Bay due to erosion, has been demolished after months of dispute over its removal. The 5,100-square-foot home was removed piece by piece, leaving only its concrete slab, chimney, and a generator. The removal was a relief for the town and the environment, as the potential collapse threatened nearby oyster beds. The original owners had sought permission to build a seawall in 2018, but concerns about its impact led to its rejection. The house was purchased in 2019 by John Bonomi for $5.5 million.
