Governments need to recommit to human rights law to end structural racism. Racism, especially anti-Black racism, is tied to colonialism, apartheid, and slavery. Reparations are necessary for communities affected by these historic injustices. Human Rights Watch highlighted the need for reparations to address racial inequality. Governments must take anti-racism seriously and address the ongoing impacts of historic racism.
