Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and former UEFA president Michel Platini were acquitted for a second time on charges of fraud involving $2 million of FIFA money in 2011. The Swiss federal court ruled in their favor, given the decade-long case with claims of a verbal agreement over the payment. Despite their legal victories, both Blatter and Platini faced career-ending bans from soccer due to corruption scandals. Platini’s ban expired in 2019, while Blatter remains exiled from soccer until late 2028.
